You're the one with the ludicrous presumption that a White girl has to be "invited" to Back that Ass up and do the Cupid Shuffle. Presumbably they would need a handy Black friend to do the "inviting".
Unless I read wrong and actually its you and you alone who is allowed to "invite" White people to join the super

She's 20 years old. What 20 year old doesn't change their entire persona every 28 days?

Again, I don't stay abreast of teen celebrity gossip, but maybe you do and have seen things that I haven't.

" I'm blaming them for thinking they have a right to participate in a new culture just because they like it. You don't get to decide you're taking something. You have to be INVITED IN. "

"getting shitty on a budget"

I'm sorry, but no. A lot of people don't have jobs, does that mean I should be careful about tweeting a picture of the awesome cake at my bosses retirement party?

Well, look around. Miley hasn't really been celebrated for being ratchet. If anything she's been ridiculed.

Believe or not, it happens. There were several times growing up when I was a friends only Black friend. There are people who can go through most of their childhood without having significant interactions with people of other races, and you can't really blame the kid for that. They don't choose their environments.

You got all that from Miley Cyrus love for grills and twerking?

I never said that anyone should be embarrassed. But if grills hold a place of such importance in a person's culture that they get butthurt anytime someone who doesn't look like them wears one, well THAT'S embarrassing.

Again, that word has several different connotations. Growing up in the South, I remember when the word first became a "thing". Then Lil' Boosie skyrocketed the word to mainstream prominence with the song Let's Get Ratchet at which point the song took on a plethora of different meanings. I grew up in an upper-mid

If wearing grills is a part of your "culture" you have much more important things to worry about.

I'm am being reasonable. The term ratchet has several definitions, and not all of them have bad connotations. Not sure what her "self-identifying" as one of the trendiest words of this generation has to do with her supposed "appropriation".

I was actually being sarcastic.

And I would tell them the exact same thing: stop being dramatic. I'm not just going to agree with someone because they're Black.

OK, so YOU don't think she's "authentic". You able to discern that because you know her personally? Or are you just making assumptions?

She can't help how she was raised. Some of my best girlfriends today grew up in lily White neighborhoods and hadn't had a Black friend until college, but now they love to get ratchet with the best of them.

"Really? A typical 20 year old appropriates cultures because it's "edgy" and "cool?" "

Oh, CAT cubbies!

"Then how do we know which is accurate? Both claims are made."
