The concern is that this will end up being abused, and lands that may not be technically a park, but still worth keeping free of development, end up getting sold and destroyed. There are quite a few places out there that are well worth preserving that are not part of the park system at all.

Blunt is probably voting to allow eventual clear cutting of the Mark Twain National Forest.

Yeah, I read it, and I think CaptainJack has his head up his ass. As do you.

What you call a strawman is what monied interests in the US want in the end. The biggest difference between having the federal government managing these lands versus the states doing so is that the feds will make sure they are properly managed, and when being overused that those using them lose their rights to what

Yeah I heard about that massive solar spill last year.. man, the devastation and pollution was ten time worse than what BP did to the Gulf.

Yeah, you're right. Why preserve lands for future generations (even those without national parks). Why preserve flora and fauna. Let's just strip mine and drill the living hell out of these federal lands, and to hell with what is left over afterwards.

As a native Nevadan, I like that the govt owns all this land, it means we can go on it. There's some restrictions and some restricted areas sure, but for the most part it's all open. Pass this crappy shit and privatize, and the fences and no trespassing signs go up. To hell with that.

No, they literally voted to sell national forests.

"The preservation of parks, wilderness, and wildlife has also aided liberty by keeping alive the 19th century sense of adventure and awe with which our forefathers greeted the American West. " — Ronald Fucking Reagan.

Excuse me. Sorry to bother you. I just have to tell you that the answer should have been Dayne. I love her voice.

And why is he blabbering his family business on Twitter? He comes off like a petulant teen.

Right? I mean it would be one thing if some cookie cutter pop artist fancied themselves a virtuoso, but Kanye is legitimately talented.

Is Kanye really an egotist though? I mean relative to other celebrities. When he calls himself a genius he isn't lying. You can't deny the man has talent.

Only problem with it is that it seems most episodes are a good 5 minutes of recap. That gets old really quickly when you're doing 5 or 6 in a row.

“A Christian woman enters a Muslim operated business.”

I was VIP for her show last night and can vouch that the crowd went BONKERS when she said that. She’s a queen, and it made my heart smile to hear everyone agreeing with her!

Yeah, it seems like the article should have distinguished more between the pills being ineffective and their theorized mechanism being incorrect.

Assuming the clinical trials are reliable, SSRIs do *something* that can alleviate depression, but it could very well be a completely different mechanism than we previously

I wouldn't be here if not for my meds, either. They worked. They still work.
