As a big IndyCar fan (there are dozens of us!) I do agree this Thermal race was super lame. It didn’t seem like anyone was that motivated for the money, and the entire broadcast felt like Thermal was hurting to fill lots and memberships and hosted this as an infomercial.
It’s not a spec. There are a lot of spec items, but engines and dampers are different depending on the team.
Hyundai powertrain durability is a bit spotty. I’ve heard of people getting 1-2 engine replacements in warranty.
And for full blame, it was made by Navistar, not Ford directly. Granted, Navistar also made the 7.3L, which in retrospect was incredibly reliable.
IndyCar opened its season this past weekend as well. Josef Newgarden took the pole and the race, winning a street course where he only won ovals (nearly all the ovals) last season. Pato O’Ward took the number 2 spot, and with Scott McLaughlin putting his #3 car in the #3 spot.
Just gonna put out that malaise era LTD/Crown Vic/Grand Marquis/Town Car look FAR better with the landau. When I see one without a landau it doesn’t look right. Likewise for the GM competition (Caprice, 88, LeSabre, etc.). Need a landau.
Probably got the family OK for Ford to mess with it because Fisher was part of GM. Fuck ‘em.
Not screaming. Just big ol’ American grunting. Glorious.

At the time Navistar was employing only an EGR/DPF strategy and trying not to include SCR, while Ford, probably knowing that that solution was physically impossible to meet EPA NOx targets (as Navistar’s own engine division essentially no…
I’ve seen my fair share of dead Transylvanian noblemen, so I’ll just say “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
Love how the BMW is driving on the wrong side of a double yellow. Typical.
NP, if only to look at that engine all the time. (Which you will.)
The car with the most miles on it is a Volvo P1800S.
“tactical” package
No full carts! Most kiosks are designed to do only a few quick things, and full carts in the kiosk area get in the way of others and take FOREVER. If you have a full cart, go to a staffed line or a self-checkout designed for a larger load. It’ll be faster and you won’t be a nuisance to others.
4. - Felix Rosenqvist (Ganassi Arrow McLaren) - + 4.116 seconds
It’s all the FIBs and the Minnesotans that get pulled over. They target out of state plates like crazy, just like Ohio.
