I can understand that.

Heinlein explored this in a bunch of his works: The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Time Enough for Love. He called that situation "linear marriage" where new spouses join the family, but are only married directly to the person or persons they committed to in the ceremony.

Properly done, there is existing paperwork that can cover those situations. I'm in a monogamous relationship, but I would want my fiance to consult with my sister before making decisions about me should I become incapacitated. I'm not saying you're wrong by any means. Obviously, you end up in a lot of trouble in those

Yes! This had me calling my dog doge back in 2006! Now I feel like an old hipster....

Stuff You Missed In History Class has been consistently female-hosted and consistently good.

Oh, haha, the photo is from the pattern. It didn't occur to me that people would think I knit them from the conversation.

In continental knitting, you move the yarn around the needle instead of moving the needle around the yarn. This drives me crazy, because I am a very impatient person, and everything about the way I knit is done to maximize speed, from my extremely loose tension (I have to wrap my yarn around my finger at least twice

Haha, I hated Totes, too. But my other half and I just started replying "Totes Boots." and now no one says that around either of us anymore.

I hate that word so much. It makes it sound like she's fat, not growing a human worm baby!

Same here. I have a pair of the super simple ballet-flat looking ones in black and brown.

The Mr. jokes we live in a yarn store. There are more looms than people in this house.

I learned how to crochet as a little kid, and was mad that I couldn't do certain things, like cables. So I taught myself how to knit when I was 15 out of this really great little book called The Knitter's Companion. Casting on is the hardest part, because there are as many ways to do it as there are religious groups.

I am. I'm making these:

Careful, knitting is a gateway to spinning.

If more people could do that, Christians would have a better reputation. One of the best reads of my life was the Gnostic bible, but I was raised Catholic and have a love of apocrypha.

That's the breed. Gracie is just a tiny toy, though. So it will probably take forever to make a pair of socks.

Because it's too good not to post. And takes less than 2 minutes of time to watch. Now I'm going to go cry some more because my best friend's amazing wife birthed the most gorgeous baby I've ever seen today, and my cup doth overfloweth with joy and hormones.

The story about her meeting Dr. King makes me cry every time I think about it. *sigh* I <3 Nichelle forever.

When I was overeating, I switched to using smaller forks and spoons too. I found that taking more, smaller bites really maximized my enjoyment of what I was eating.

Ahahaha! One of mine too. I get tired of having to dig through mounds of trojans to find the brands that feel good.
