Positive things to say, yes, but I don't recall anyone reviews really saying 3-series beater, more like "very good car, especially given Caddy's past, but still aways to go". With the ATS, it seems the reviews are mostly "Holy shit, this is a contender with the 3." Not beating it exactly, but way closer than Cadillac…

The difference is, that was pretty much Cadillac and Cadillac alone saying the CTS was up to snuff with the 3-series. Yes, they're regurgitating that same line with the ATS, but the CTS never had as much agreement by reviewers of that claim as the ATS is having.

Since I'm late this will be buried in the comments, but the reason the Ford hybrids got such high EPA ratings is because they can get up to 62 mph on battery power alone. But only if you're insanely gentle with the throttle. Drive it like a normal person and you'll get more normal mileage. Simple.
