I read the books a while ago, so maybe it’s in there and I just forgot, but what could sandworms possibly be eating to grow so large? On a desert planet where’s the biomass to support such a huge creature? An occasional Harvester or Ornithopter doesn’t seem so nutritious…

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if quite a few key elements had been quietly shot, or at least prepped, as part of the Dune 1 shoot.

Year 1: Mayo

Apex. Yeah, I get it. Bruce Willis gotta pay rent. But what if we’ve already seen Running Man?

Came here to say exactly this!

YES!

Big man in a suit of armour with a cursed blade. Take that off, what are you?”

One of the most annoying things about mega-movies franchises like Star Wars or the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that everyone is so hell-bent on keeping secrets that the people working on them have to lie through their teeth in response to even the most banal questions with the most obvious answers.

exactly this.

I’ve noticed this growing trend in journalism, where someone picks out some arbitrary movie from 10 or 20 years ago and dunks on it for no discernible reason.

Came here to say this but Kinja took 200,000 years to load the comment module!

I’ve been watching Star Trek since I was six years old and this looks great to me.

I loved the first movie, thought the second and third ruined the concept by explaining too much and am completely unable to explain why I am so excited about this one.

It certainly did here in the UK. I saw it in an otherwise deserted cinema and it’s funny, entertaining and surprisingly smart.

I think this looks fine, and I understand that certain cosmetic compromises will have been made to reel in a mainstream audience – and that those compromises will be front and centre in the trailers.

I liked the episode fine, but – and I accept this is probably more about me than about the actual script – I prefer my heroes with a flaw or two.

Yes, precisely that. With maybe a little Mad Max for the lulz?

I think the Tesseract was built into the ‘Hydra Smasher’ Iron man suit - hence the little hand-wave about the generator being able to power it towards the end.

I’ve enjoyed the 3 Marvel Disney + shows so far… Wandavision especially… but I am most excited about this one. The art style is soooo nice, and the post Infinity Saga universe feels like it might be better-placed in animation.

No need with Riri waiting in the wings.
