I agree the pre-pubescent argument is ridiculous, but equally so is this "hygiene" nonsense. Adults who shave their pubic area obviously still look like adults. And they do not have a monopoly on cleanliness. I don't which of these two myths annoys me more.

As a Millennial, I can't believe Boomers and former Flower Children are such judgmental assholes.

Excuse me, I would just like to point out that a woman shaving her vulva doesn't make it look child-like. There's a great difference between a child's vulva and a grown woman and that difference isn't hair. Thank you.

Bring back 70's Bush.

THANK YOU!!

You know, I'm saving my ire for people who are actively working against gay rights. So Sherri doesn't like gay people. She thinks they're going to hell. So what? Her loss.

I'm not anti-gay, but I don't think they should get married.

bah-zing!

I dunno. I feel Trace shouldn't beat himself up about it.

I posted this in another thread, but I think it deserves it's own.

Uh, yes, I have the right to vote, and I always vote for prochoice Dems, and they always win (alas, I forgot to arrange to vote absentee from college when Governor McDonnell won).

Don't forget this part:

Holy crap. I didn't know America had no maternity leave. So, you have to pay to be in the hospital to have your baby, and then immediately you have to find and pay for daycare or bust? Is that how it works there, then?

Jesus Christ.

It's absolutely insane that many of the same lawmakers who want to ban abortion also expect women to have a baby on a Friday and be back at work the following Monday...and of course, the cost of child care be damned!

Damn, Mississippi, of course. OF COURSE. By the way, if my quick calculations are correct, there are more black people in Mississippi than there are people in Montana.

This is something I really hate about my country. The second you sell an ounce of weed, all consideration of your human rights seems to go out the window immediately. Why is the public at large so petty, vindictive, and bloodthirsty that they willingly buy in to the escalating "tough on crime" bullshit that

Compassion is, frankly, hard. It involves introspection and thoughtfulness. It requires willingness to accept that one's own experience and situation may not be true of others. Everyone struggles with that to some degree.

Have you read Michelle Hunovon's novel, Blame? The main character serves time in a fire camp and it is a very detailed depiction of what that is like. Good book.
I'm glad your parent is doing well now. Many people can be redeemed, especially those who are in prison for drug offenses. I wish we had more humane prisons

Vindictive... that's the word I wanted to use instead of vengeful, but couldn't think of. So yes, I agree wholeheartedly.

This is, actually, also a recurring theme on here. I'm constantly shocked at how vindictive people can be about former prisoners on here, and how little forgiveness is given.
