I'm so glad she wore her hair down, too. I can't think of any time we've seen photos of her with an updo. If she'd had some stiff, sprayed-up bun, she wouldn't have looked like herself. I think the main thing I love about this as that SHE really does shine through all the trappings (beautiful trappings of course).

Oh my, you just caused tears to spring into my eyes.

I've watched wayyy to many of their shows, clearly, because what I think is that Kourtney is only putting in the bare minimum because she has too. I don't think she wants to be there, and it shows.

So thankful for my hometown Gyn. The first time I ever went (around 12 or 13), she asked me if I had any questions about the way my ladyparts looked. It had never occurred to me to have any questions, or to think that anyone would. She said a few things about how it was normal if one lip was larger than the other,

I'm with on this — that, and the nasty little piece of gossip I've heard around: that in fact Darren Aronofsky is the father of Natalie's child and it was because of their affair that Rachel Weiss left him.

I adore Adrianne Palicki, but this doesn't even look like her! It must be the bright lips and facial airbrushing. Weird.

Sooo, I gave up on Idol 2 seasons ago or so, but I might actually have to watch X Factor. I do love me some Simon Cowell...

Careful if you are using hormonal birth control to prevent pregnancy, though — St. John's Wort can interfere with its effectiveness.

Or the hordes of people hungry to make money off of tween girls' desire to be famous? Cause that's what this Ark Factory looks like to me.

I popped over there a couple of hours ago and happened to see this IRL — it's actually a really ugly poncho with the tiniest neck-hole I've ever seen. Can't decide if that makes it worse or better. (I hate the poncho trend.)

Behbeh Fox! I adore it! I would even adore a grownup fox in this gallery.

I watched this version only recently and I loved it. I completely agree with the Slate writer's take that Ruth Wilson played a more gutsy Jane, and I would throw in my lot with Toby Stephens in a heartbeat. I've read Jane Eyre probably 10-15 times, and seen all the movie adaptations, and this one had me captivated

The patients were so vulnerable, so easily swayed. To me they had always been individuals. But now I believed that to the organization they were dollar signs.

When I was 8, I asked for a calligraphy set for Christmas...it's been downhill (meaning, the money has flown out of my pocket) ever since. I can't go to Target without buying pens. When Sharpie introduced their new pen line, I checked Staples every week until they arrived, then bought every variety. When I got my

@all Just as an FYI to clarify, I definitely still think this billboard is terrible and racist, and my pointing out who is behind it was not meant to excuse them. I simply think that this info, particularly the religious angle, adds a level of subtext to the whole situation that made me think differently about it.

I commented this in response to someone below, but I think it bears repeating. I saw the head of the organization that put this billboard up last night on the news. He is an African-American priest or minister (whatever denomination wears a black soutaine/white collar). I think that fact throws a slightly different

For what it's worth, I saw a news report on this last night, and the guy (minister? he was wearing a collar) who is the head of the "organization" that put up this billboard is African-American. Their opposition appears to be more religiously-based than racist, not that it makes this any better.

@margarine for error: Ah, but you see, when people buy books used, the author does not make a cent. Yes, used books are cheap, and I get that lots of people don't have extraneous money to spend on books. But the only people who make money on used books are the used booksellers. Not the publishers, not the authors,

Those things were completely sold out at my local Dunkin this morning by 9am.

I just got an email from a vendor I'm doing some work with, and she signed off on her proposal with "Have a great Valentine's Day!"
