@bluebears: Yes, but all the basics are definitely still there. Now there are more interestingly cut jackets, some subtle animal print stuff, and the new jewelry is spectacular. Loft has some new things too — at better prices.

@small-fox: Yes, exactly what I'm trying to say — the practice IS common — to all book publishers everywhere. My point is, it has nothing to do with liberal or conservative or "agenda pushing". It has to do with money.

@small-fox: I have to interject and say that you're totally wrong about this. This book was published by the second-largest mainstream book publisher in the world (which definitely has no "conservative" political agenda" — they also publish everyone from Barbara Kingsolver to Emeril, even, once upon a time, Michael

@lovecake: Yes, I can confirm this is true. It is beyond annoying. Because they serve food, some parents seem to see it as an equivalent to a restaurant (kids are usually in there around happy hour time, not 1am, BUT STILL).

@PaintedTrollop: I personally can't wait to meet little Blacksmith Jones-Abramovitch.

@Zombie Ms. Skittles: Yeah, this is one where the reader/audience is omnipotent (along with the narrator), so her family doesn't know, but we do.

@funnyface: Agreed — if there's a PE requirement, it should be required for all. I was just coming over here to write that.

@Sunshineyness: Oooh thank you, George has always been my favorite.

I clicked over JUST to see what Gabby Sidibe would pull off this time. I'm in agreement on the batting 1000!

@AgainWithFeeling: Yeah, her recent EW interview pretty much cemented my love for her, on attitude alone (I have not, nor will I, see these movies). #newmoon

@this_charming_one: Ok now, this book was published by a mainstream publisher whose employees work hard and take pride in their work. Yes, the content is questionable, but a lot of designers, editors, proofers, ad agency folks, and publicity and promotion people have worked hard, long, late hours to get this book

Brunettes with shorter hair, do not despair! I have been known to rip off hairstyles from Blair Waldorf. So can you! The side braid, the headband, the faux flapper-bob... all are at your fingertips. #hair

@Zapatos: Hello, fellow alum.

@Sev: Hee!

@Titania: Oooh, I think I disagree with you a little. I think she has a chance of having a really interesting career. And I could see her deciding to try writing/directing/producing/etc. as well. She seems very smart.

@hfree: I'm finding this easier than Possession. Rather than long passages of poetry to muddle through, this one has eerie, creepy, awesome fairy tales. #booklists

@Agumen: I'd suggest that each reviewer select simply what she/he likes

@hfree: I just have to comment that I'm 100 pages into The Children's Book and it is a-mazing. But I love AS Byatt, and not everyone does. #booklists
