I am dying at the no transfer because this is a constant struggle for me. My husband loves the all enveloping hugs, but I’m always worried about transfer on his shirts and suits. Then he feels rejected and I’m like “no, baby I’m worried about the dry cleaning bill!” *sigh*
I saw it with family without knowing what it was about, and it was so good. My 2 year old loved the music and imagery. I was nervous some of it would be scary for him, but I think that flew over his head. It was such a visually beautiful movie, and a great story. I bawled.
Well, Iowa was named the best state yesterday.
If they want to avoid premiering this too close to a school shooting, when will it ever premier?
Such beautiful images. It’s great to see that intimacy and bond between them. I feel like that’s also something that’s not shown often for black women.
That is so true! I LOVED Pizza Hut as a kid. I think this sentiment is a testament to how successful their reading campaign was that it cemented this love of Pizza Hut into so many kids. Genius.
I assume they’re talking about sitting for an hour after you’ve finished your meal, not taking an hour to eat your meal. If the restaurant is busy, it is rude to hold a table after you’re done.

Even more importantly, those classes could teach people how not to create a hostile work environment.
But the original Golden Girls demographic were not sought-after back then (or now), and that show was and still is great. I’d prefer no re-boot, but I wouldn’t put it past them!
I do that too. For instance, at work I’ll take my phone with me to the copier or a colleague’s office just in case I need to get out of there quickly. I don’t usually have pockets so I actually have to grab it and take it with me.
Great interview, this is definitely on my list to read. It was interesting to hear about her writing process and how the book changed based on reader feedback and her own reimagining of the story. This sounds like it will be an emotional read.
Wow, I didn’t even register that. He’s old enough to be on the internet so how horrible to see yourself described as a rowdy boy or troublesome student.
Yes, I got a few of those too! I’d usually say something like “Yes, this is working well for us. I’m glad you found what works for you/You’ll find what works for you.” And keep it moving. I tried to educate people, but some people don’t want to be educated and that’s on them.
We slowly weaned down to one feeding a day over time, and that one feeding is what we did for almost the past year. He’s eaten what we eat for a while, but he still needed that morning feed. Plus, it was nice to have that time with him at the beginning of the day.
