No, the intent of the law is to protect people from potentially getting scammed out of money. How do we KNOW these guys are legit? We really don't. That's what the law was written to protect against — potential fraud involving a (potentially) large amount of money. The law is being applied correctly and for the right

Just because you didn't know a law exists doesn't mean you are exempt from the law. There is no "pleading ignorance" in the courtroom.

EA has nothing to do with this. It's the STATE GOVERNMENT that is charging them. EA doesn't (officially, anyway) care what you do with your copy. You own it and it's yours. It's not the fact that it was being sold or given away — it's the fact that the state frowns upon anyone running an illegal lottery.

The law exists for a very good reason: Running a lottery is a spectacularly wonderful way to potentially scam a very large number of people out of money. Lotteries, by definition, involve three components: entrance fee, winner chosen by chance, and prizes given to the winner. Typical sweepstakes, promotional

I write and produce music (as a primary hobby, not professionally) and this makes me cringe a little. He needs to seriously lay off the reverb and chorus on his vocals and EQ that considerably to improve the clarity of the vocals.

There's really no reason thus far to believe it's Psychonauts 2 (the fact that it's a point-n-click pretty much assures this), so I'm just going to say that it is not Psychonauts 2. (And if I'm wrong, all the better.)

This seems similar to what I feel about sports fans. Diehard sports fans always hold athletes to a standard and work ethic that is almost impossible to attain and that they themselves don't practice in their own lives/profession. They'll rail on athletes for not working hard enough, not given 125% at every given

Planescape: Torment is most certainly considered an RPG.

Alright well, this is one of those "confusingly named genres" type of thing.

Haha, the "bot" suspicions were creeping up strongly.

I'm genuinely surprised they don't have fake American names. I thought that was standard practice among outsourced customer support.

Some guy's chat transcript with Origin Support. Hilarious(-ly bad).

You can't say "Bioware means Quality" in reference to this game when this isn't "Bioware" making the game. Oh sure the box and advertisements may say "Bioware", but it's not actually the Bioware we know. The quality-game-making Bioware you now is NOT working on this game. It is a completely different studio that

Okay, I'm actually pretty impressed by his Hades voice. I wish I could walk around town uttering lines in that voice.

Achievements serve many purposes, but it's entirely up to you whether you care or whether you want to do them:

I THINK that you can get a star from authoring a featured SpeakUp post... am I right? (I might not be, I don't know.)

Alright that's it, we need a Bay Area Kotakuite Summit Meeting to share and discuss our Shoe-Taking-Off experiences. We will create many demographic maps and charts.

It's not just your blue collar/farming background or NE US history... I've lived in many parts of California (mostly city areas) and just about everyone I've known takes off their shoes before coming into the house. It was (and actually still is) a shock to me that there are people who DON'T do that.

Yeah, just like flamin_sheep I'm from Bay Area California and EVERYONE takes their shoes off... despite the fact that we have relatively little rain and no snow. In fact, I'm actually still amazed that people DON'T take their shoes off in other areas of the country.. I honestly feel awkward in the rare instances that
