Not really. The funding goes to cities and states to doll out as they see fit. Usually, us engineers try to help them prioritize these. New “ribbon cutting” projects are capital projects, while repaving roads are maintenance projects. Different pots of money. Plus, bridge maintenance is more serious, but comes around…

Eeehhh... I’m a Civil Engineer, so I’m in on all this stuff. Someone in my office recently helped write the new ASCE infrastructure report card.

ASCE is also a lobbying arm for engineers.

Wycheck is one of the hosts on Nashville’s sports morning show. I remember a couple years ago when all the CTE stuff was first coming out, the hosts were discussing it. Frank was all but freaking out. He was saying he had mood swings, he had migraines, and I’ll never forget the way he lamented what he knew was coming.
