Deadspin and its commentariat was the best thing on the internet.
Deadspin and its commentariat was the best thing on the internet.
It seems only fitting that I get to respond to your post as the last post on Deadspin, since you’ve been my favorite author since forever. Thank you for speaking truth to power, holding those accountable for atrocities that many others call the “cost of doing business” in sports and generally, just being a top-notch…
Let’s all stop saying Jimmy’s name, so he can die that second death first!
Also: it’s in some Macklemore song my 9yo daughter listens to. So, there’s that.
Shout out to the dumbasses in charge who haven’t figured out how to turn the comments off on the subblogs yet. You brain geniuses show your asses at every possible opportunity and we’re all better for it.
This Bear Friday is the Deadspin equivalent of a viking funeral. Farewell everyone.
If I was funny, I would have realized that. The hilarious commentariat will be one of the great legacies of Deadspin.
Not going to lie. It would be a funny joke if you forgot who said it....
I’ve been a regular here since 2006. My social circle doesn’t really allow many opportunities to talk sports so I treasured that this was THE place that allowed for my dumbass jokes and ridiculous takes to be heard (and even then, there were better comments made by better people).
As an illustration Clark was fine. But this made him a legend:
Well I can star this post out of the grays for you. Won’t help with any future posts, but it doesn’t seem like that’s likely to be a big problem with Deadspin unfortunately.
Thank you, Diana, for this last bit of joy from this site. Much love to you and all the staff, all the way back to Leitch, for making this place what it was.
Every man has two deaths, when he is buried in the ground and the last time someone says his name. In some ways men can be immortal. - Ernest Hemingway
Goodbye everyone. It’s been a hell of a ride. Never made it out of the greys but that’s ok.
How strange to see comments here...
Concourse post, comments work!
His page views showed that he was valuable to the company and brought in revenue. The repitition of his numbers show that his ability to bring in readers was the one constant in this story. While everything was shifting around him, he steadily drew traffic to the site, but his work got lost in the shuffle.
Go fuck yourself.
