I had not heard about that one before. So the film cell is black and undeveloped without any image on it?

It’s not a lockpick, that’s an actual safecracker in this case.
What were they thinking?
I had a small flashback to the game “Outpost” Anyone else?
Found a link that says this photo was taken in Montana by smokejumper John McColgan
This photo is several years old (2000) I remember there being a fight over whether it was real or shopped. Think the location was actually Arizona. Gooooogling it now
I love playing Risk but this looks lousy. There should be a map with connecting lines between star systems and planets within each system. Each system would therefore be a continent. Control all the planets and you own the continent. That’s Risk. A fighter would be a single army, a Corellian corvette or a frigate…
If you subscribe to Make magazine you would already have a good guess as to how this little guy worked. There were several makers out there that showed how to make a BB8 from a sphero a few months back. He is pretty awesome though and I want one in my collection.
Dan Brown featured this conveyor belt in his book in the Da Vinci Code series “The Lost Symbol.” It sounded too good to be real, so I looked it up to see that it really was a real thing just not in use any more.
Also a good reminder here to be on the look out and order your Lego 2015 Star Wars Advent calendar as soon as they come out because they sell out so fast every year.
I went to BrickFair VA and saw this. He used a good variety of pieces to achieve this look and it came together really well and the detail is insane.
Light polluted northern VA last night. I used trees in the front yard to screen from all the neighborhood porch lights. Still washed out a bit but just proved it is possible to observe in cities.
Is this the final moment of Jek Porkins?
I thought that too. Looks like they popped it on purpose to allow the spent casings to clear the aft end and not get hung up on the body. They should add a small piece of chute to the back of the turret to ensure the shell clears then they wouldn’t need to do that in the first place.
Maybe they should still get the title but no stop in the clock. The first flight around the world in 1924 had “The spare parts included 15 extra engines, 14 extra sets of pontoons, and enough replacement airframe parts for two more aircraft. These were sent ahead along the route around the world the aircraft would…
Yup, Edison had a whole team of people working all the time on ideas. Tesla worked for him too and improved several of his DC generators. Part of the beginning of their rivalry. He would be another great example of Lone but not Lone Inventors.
How many times did he do this trick? In the GIF you can see a person standing on the roof from the ground shot but they are not there in the overhead angle shot. I’ll look at eh YouTube later to figure that one out.
Why we don't have more is simple: Several high profile disasters including Fukishima 2011 and the cleanup still going on today.
Pretty awesome. Did you notice some of the streaks that run through the chamber that do not come from the uranium? Those are cosmic radiation that are hitting the Earth all the time. I've seen chambers like this that people were just demonstrating how to see just that. I like this show though.
Love how they are adding more and more cameras to these rockets. Some of the shots are pretty amazing like camera shots inside of the Fuel tank. Two more launches till they try another barge landing.
