This pleases me, mostly.

Uh, to call them direct competitors is an insult to Ferrari methinks. Their only sports car is the GT and that think is staler than the croutons on the caesar salad served in the Ferrari factory lunch room.

That’s an incredible motor. Since Ghiblis were practically free in 2015, we tried a lease. Not super fast, but fast enough. Sounded incredible and could return 30mpg on the highway.

Maserati has a LONG history of using Ferrari drivetrains, so this shouldn’t be a surprise.

The TC was kinda cool by 80's standards but not relevant to this here. The TC was a K-Car (LeBaron) breathed on by Maserati styling and badging, which from memory kept the Dodge inline-4 Turbo, but got a new (and awesome) head,

The V6 in the Ghibli is also a Ferrari built unit. It’s not entirely a Ferrari design though as it is based on the existing Chrysler Pentastar. Weirdly it is a very similar displacement but not the same engine as the entirely Ferrari designed V6 in the Alfa Guila.

All I can think about now is “Chrysler TC by Maserati by Ferrari”

I loved the episode where she was teaching Rory how to drive the camaro around willow. I was laughing the whole time with her coaching technique, and the to have her go out and kick his ass first lap was just icing on the cake.

Around my area, people make decent money but your figure of $1300 / month for a mortgage is about too small by 2.5-3X. So, people go for the house and drive mediocre cars. Very common to see $1 million plus homes with a several year old base model mid size sedan or 8 year old middle of the road SUV. As much as I love

Just like every John Hughesesque 80s teen comedy, she was right there all along...

Every car show needs an old white person with hot takes, and I think Rosanne Barr is available. Plus she ran for the Green Party’s presidential primary in 2012, and can bring an environmentalist perspective to the show.

In my mind, truly being able to afford a car means taking care of all the other stuff you should be doing financially as well. Many people can “afford” these cars, as in, they can make the payments, but they’re doing so in the absence of any meaningful long-term savings. So, when they’re 60, they’ll have owned a good

It really depends though. Counterpoint:

Ha. I pay over $1000 a month. Of course I did a zero down loan because the interest was 0.9%.

Yeah on my last purchase I borrowed ~$22k and my payment is in the $360/mo range and I felt bad about it. Love my car and I’m fortunate that the expense isn’t a problem, but I’d never have guessed that on average people are borrowing and paying much more than that for a car.

Average car buyer - “My 2000 Honda accord needs $300 worth of ball joints, this thing is a money pit. $30,000 is a lot cheaper than the repairs. I’ll just buy a new car.” I hear this excuse all the times. People are idiots.

I’m not calling you stupid, but stupid is still stupid even if stupider exists.

But a good way to get back on your feet is to miss two car payments.

This was (basically) my car in high school. Same color and everything. I think 1/4 of that front bar still lit up by the time I got car.

Vorderblende, Iassume, as it’s in front and not in the back.
