@Gimmi Mørgäikkönën: The Rocky Mountain Saab Club is very large and very active, make sure you join up when you get there :-)

I was fortunate, I got to watch the last flight of the one that is now in the US Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson. It flew in from the west, did several fly-bys, then landed on the unused strip next to the museum. My dad and I both cried a little, watching the end of an era.

'86 is a good (and somewhat rare) year for the SPG. Headliner falling is probably the number one problem with the C900. This one also has the factory rear louvers, which add a kinda neat look to the thing. Make sure to check for rust at the lower right-side A-arm mounts; the batteries always leak onto that frame

Wow, all this money spent on production of a show that ALREADY EXISTS. Can't we just get the current seasons of Top Gear in HD straight from BBC2 and call it done? This makes no sense.

Here's a shot of our oldest, the '66 Monte Carlo 850, somewhere in the wilds of British Columbia. We're repeating the Spring Thaw Rally this weekend, look for pictures!

What a way to start my week :-)

Here's a shot of the MC850 somewhere in British Columbia on last year's Spring Thaw Rally. This year's happens this weekend, can't wait!

Oh yeah. What a great way to start my Monday. Just yesterday, I got my '66 Monte Carlo 850 up and running again after a year-long slumber - not quite the same as the sound of a turbo spooling, but damn fine allt he same :-)

We live about 35 miles east of Seattle, directly under the test flight path of the 787. Watching that thing bank overhead is just friggin' CREEPY; you have to see those bent wings in action to appreciate just how bendy they really are.

@SixSpeed5: I stand corrected, and bow to your Photoshoppery skills :-)

@jbh11126: Wrong on all counts. It's a Saab 9-3SS, with those sweet 5-spoke wheels:

@evoCS-Hench-Minion to the stars: Grew up in Middletown, been there many, many times. Yes, it is in fact the building shown in the Justice League cartoon. Google some interior pictures, it's astonishing.

Saab 9000 Aero. Dirt cheap, runs like stink, and simply will not break down (especially with a manual tranny).

The Saab "Monster". A 93 with two 3cyl 2-stroke engines mated to one crank. Good for "well over 100hp" and supposedly clocked at 196km/h...

@beercheck: My bad, Glenway Ave, Price Hill West Side, The 'Nati:

@beercheck: Naah, that's Glendale, right smack in the middle of The 'Nati.

@SantaRita: I am one of those people :-)

Now playing

The SVX engine is a VERY desirable swap for Vanagon owners, as it fits the engine bay quite well. It can be almost too much for the standard Vanagon tranny as well, but in a Syncro it's a monster.
