I think they thought that if they kept her answering questions for eight, nine, ten, eleven hours she’d either make a mistake, say something impolitic or get flustered and female-hysterical. Either way it would damage her chances.

I support the Democrat.
So we have a government using all its force to intimidate, harass and drive a law-abiding company out of business.
Help register others to vote. Sign up to drive people to the polls. Texas can go purple if sane Texans can keep the loons from disenfranchising the others.
Same reason that people thought the Jedi were mythological a mere 18 years after Palpatine killed them.
That’s the same argument that used to be used against my German immigrant ancestors, who had their own German-language newspapers and everything.

personal stamp of approval
The GOP base has been pretty openly racist for some time, but what's really sad is that the potential candidates don't feel the need to maintain an arms-length distance anymore.
Apparently, the GOP’s takeaway was that they hadn’t been racist enough, since America chose to elect a black guy twice.

I don’t think of the Milwaukee suburbs of the 1970s and 1980s as having been particularly progressive, much less a “wierd hippie incubator”, and I was raised to call all my parents’ friends by their first names. My grandmother’s friends, that was different.
Thank you. I gladly stand corrected.
And holy shit, Richard Crenna is amazing. The way he hesitates before patting a sobbing Rambo on the back, his sad nod... Beautiful.
The difference is that Aliens built on the world of Alien. Took it in a different direction, but didn’t completely miss the point of the first film.
He won an Oscar, didn’t he? For screenwriting?
