And those 2 or 3 apps that run on Windows but not on Mac can easily be covered when you use either bootcamp or paralels to either emulate windows in a virtual machine or install it on a disk partition.

There's something I forgot. And that is gaming. For gaming you definitely need to have Windows. Simply because most videogame developers choose to make their games for Windows.
I should be soon taking the Windows to Mac steps (for better or for worse). I'm not 100% fact checked but here's what I know and think so far.
