@Elhigh: About 60% of Texas, the areas not inhabited by cities, have lots of uses for these trucks. There's a massive market for heavy haulers, and there's still a massive need for them. What you see around town is a small number of what goes to work.

EPA testing aside, LS motors have been capable of this in real world conditions for many years. G8 GT drivers were even reporting numbers just over 30 mpg at freeway speeds with DoD, as well as the much slipperier Corvette. LS7 included.
