You know, I’m conflicted. I don’t know whether I like Brie Larson in the role. She has the sardonic looks and stuff down, but to me she wasn’t the slam-dunk casting that Marvel got right with, say, Robert Downey, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johanssen, ad infinitum. I kept seeing (in my mind, anyway) American Ninja Warrior

It was supposed to be God but the studio was uncomfortable with it.

Ah yes, the Demon Rock-Paper-Scissors Children.

This fits very well with the typical teenage worldview that everything is uncomplicated and, jeez, you old fools, anybody can do this better than you.

Honestly, I’m not even going to read this review until I’ve seen the film.

I know! It’s mid-battle and she’s riding into a maelstrom and she still has time to throw Banner some absolute shade.

I mean, I’ve always had a little bit of a crush on Danai Gurira, but if she’d have thrown that look at me in any context, I’d have knelt too.

Okoye, to me, is the greatest thing to come out of the Black Panther mythos (at least, in the films). And this scene gave me all the chills when I saw it in the theater.

I was like that with the pilot too.

It is a retcon... from a certain point of view.

Sure it’s a leap - I wouldn’t be an internet commenter if I didn’t make stupid, fantastical leaps of assumption based on a two-minute trailer! There’s just nothing in Abrams’ repertoire that leads me to believe he’s going to do anything but try to stuff Pandora back into his custom-made puzzle-box.

In fairness, I’ve been a J.J. Abrams hater ever since he took a burrito dump all over the Star Trek universe, but your point is still well-taken.

Wow, you’re right. You know whose hands those look like?

I hate this teaser for many reasons.

All of it. J.J. is going to walk all of it back.

Not mentioned: the titanic failure of the How I Met Your Mother finale. Talk about having work cut out for it and falling so hard on its face.

You know, The Avengers isn’t even my favorite MCU movie anymore. Winter Soldier holds that distinction, with Ragnarok and Homecoming close behind.

I had no idea that I needed to know this until just now, but now that I do I’m so very, very happy.

You *sob* monster...
