I read one article on that site, and it was highly unimpressive. They were heavily defense-focused and were consulting with uninvolved criminal attorneys to give theories and takes on evidence that they hadn’t reviewed.

Right? She might not be mentally ready to face the fact that her husband was a child molesting, hateful creep who murdered their kid. I mean, that would be difficult for any woman.
They also seem to be heavily focused on the defense, and rely a lot on attorneys who aren’t representing Harris to come up with theories. I don’t think this is reliable journalism.
I remember that. At the time, I read the comment and eyerolled, because every terrible person out there has someone who will say that they had no idea, what a great guy, blah blah blah.
This is where we disagree. Leaving a child in a car is not “how the human brain normally works”. It’s negligence.
I’ve seen conflicting statistics regarding whether more white or more black folks are executed, although it’s pretty clear that execution is more likely when the victim is white.
According to police on site, when they opened up the door to the car, it reeked.
When this broke, a commenter on Gawker claimed to know him and that he was a great guy, etc. etc.
I’m honestly not anti death-penalty. Because men like JR Harris exist.
According to police tests, he would have seen his son, but even barring that ... he would have smelled him.
Actually, that evidence was used properly to establish motive.
His now-ex also made a statement, as soon as the kid wasn’t at daycare, that Ross must have left the kid in the car. So she’s not entirely above suspicion, either.
I think there needs to be at least a two-year ban on people sharing that article as if it contains new information.
I’ve read that article. I don’t think anyone who reads Jezebel, or Slate, or anything else on the internet has escaped reading that article. Seriously. I honestly don’t even know why people feel the need to link it anymore.
He clearly didn’t love his child “more than anything in the world”, or he wouldn’t have been sexting children while he was supposed to be bonding with his son. Or, you know, leaving him to burn to death in a car.
I’m assuming that she just willingly doesn’t want to believe that she married and copulated with a monster.
I’m guessing that the defense was trying to show that he was a loving, involved father who made a mistake.
Because there’s no indication that he was mentally ill, just that he wanted to get his dick wet.
That article is not very persuasive. It’s commentary from a defense attorney who isn’t working on the case and hasn’t reviewed the video.
Quite frankly, I don’t super care about parents who kill their children by baking them to death in hot cars getting treated gently by the court system.
