This night school series has inspired me to take my programming talents to the iPhone. I'm currently taking the Stanford iTunes U cs193p class. The hardest part is giving up a couple of hours a night to spend on it after programming all day at work.

Wow. I used to think I was pretty good in command line environments (did a lot of C++ in college). But not after reading all these great tips and tricks. Nice collection for the article. I certainly feel like a newb.

@pjp13: you will likely enjoy php. Syntax wise, they are very similar. No variable type definitions in php, and tons of built in functions. And you can still build your own classes etc.
