That’s not how an analogy works.

I agree completely other than this magical sense of responsibility that you feel seems to come over people. Instinct comes over people. You try to run and hide until that stops working. It is self evident that at some point, that tactic stopped working at Pulse.

“So you think people should be allowed to carry concealed in a nightclub/bar? That’s what Trump wants. Be clear on your position.”

You seriously don’t think an off duty police officer or someone concealed carrying with the chance of killing or incapacitating the shooter while killing say 2 other people and wounding 4 more is a better result? You’re not going to accidentally kill half the number of people that died trying to shoot at one person.

No one credible ever says this. Maybe a 1 in 4 chance of less people dying, however any odds are still better than no odds. There were no odds that night. None.

He didn’t say anything contradictory to what I wrote. Most people behave the same way, concealed carry or not — you hear gunshots beside you and you hit the floor and then you try to run. Thing is, that instinctual response applies to everyone including the shooter, so “a different result” isn’t a wild claim. 1 less

Guns are expensive. More guns, more expense. You’re basically asking for a study that correlates wealth with IQ.

You haven’t thought this through at all. The military would be crippled without civilian logistics. That means truck drivers that get the food and fuel to the bases, that means IT professionals that keep network infrastructure running, etc, etc etc

Aside from the fact that your definition isn’t even correct, one clause is not predicated on the other. There is no constitutional mandate that people drill as a militia. That’s like claiming there is only free speech during a peaceable assembly or during a redress of grievances.

So you’re going to deny that socioeconomic status is the primary risk factor for gun violence?

Yeah it’s white collar whites responsible for the gun violence in America. /s

Really, what are mine? That a few concealed carry people in the crowd at the Pulse night club were going to keep anyone from dying? No one credible ever says this. Maybe a 1 in 4 chance of less people dying, however any odds are still better than no odds.

You have Hollywood fantasies in your head about how easy it is to actually hit individuals with a pistol. This is why there are stories of police firing dozens and dozens of rounds at a single suspect.

No, you’re getting someone else with guns to do it for you.

It drives you crazy because it’s a strawman, and when you take a strawman seriously, it tests your patience and calls your intelligence into question.

“Shooting into a crowd” =/= shooting into the air, and clear defense of someone else’s life isn’t vigilantism, hence no charges for that individual.
