And here I thought we would get a Drama about some manga fan that starts working on a boat or something beacause he loves shipping.

Hi!
- I’m Jewish.

Agreed, doing the real work! Go get’em!

Ashley is absolutely the best

She’s my favorite too!

That is some fucking horseshit. Her whole team should have walked off the field.

thank you, means a lot!

I’ve never criticism against Israel from Americans like I have this week. It really is a big change. I sort of wonder if the BLM protests last summer have anything to do with it.

I am largely indifferent about this woman and have not seen a single one of her films, but the fact that you think it is antisemitic to be critical of a message about the latest israel/palestinian conflict from Gal Gadot—an actress who has very publicly supported the IDF in the past—is odd.

Starting to think you might be my favorite writer here, honestly. And it’s not just because of your article, but how you’re laying out all the ignorant fools in the comment thread with straight facts.

Exactly this. If your ‘this is racist/anti-semitic’ screed takes well over 100 words to justify itself, poster is doing performative righteousness to disguise their own racist ignorance.

This is racist. You probably don’t even see it, because that’s how racism works, and people never see it when they’re being racist, but you’re being racist right now regardless of whether you think so or not.

This whole thing was kicked off by extremist Haredi marching through Palestinian neighborhoods, attacking their inhabitants, and screaming “DEATH TO ARABS”, all while under the protection of the IDF.

Thank you for understanding what I was saying and not jumping to the most bad faith conclusion, LOL.

I was really surprised by Yang’s defense of Israel in this instance. As an American Jew, I’ve long been sickened by Israel’s perpetual bullying of Palestinians, especially their habit of kicking Palestinians out of their homes to “settle” there. FWIW, I thought your point, Ashley, was that Gadot couldn’t even bring

Please point out where I blamed Gal Gadot for Israel’s decades long subjugation of Palestinians.

Gadot literally didn’t bother saying “Palestine” or “Palestinians” in her message.

Nobody is expecting her to say “death to Israel” and nobody said she’s accountable for the actions of the Israeli government. It’s not antisemitic to condemn violence perpetrated by the Israeli government.

Never forget:

The comparison was made not to suggest they are similar people with similar impact, but to note how their statements are regarded as tone deaf in a way that they just haven’t been before. Hard to imagine a politician walking back a statement like the one Yang made a few years ago.
