Why do you think he's moving to Florida?!?
Why do you think he's moving to Florida?!?
Sounds like my 09 9-3 Aero!
THANK YOU!!! It’s about time someone said it. As an E39 540i Touring owner, I am constantly amazed how simple and well engineered that car is. Parts are everywhere, and dirt cheap and repairs tend to be straightforward.
If only Matt Farrah wasn’t straight.
That’s a beauty! E39 Touring (540iT) driver here. I love the simplicity of it.
Sounds like the Haldex system Saab had towards the end (XWD). Do you know if that's the case?
I’ve thought about a tranny swap too, but it won’t be any time soon. But just to know the parts are out there and it’s within the realm of possibility is nice.
Completely agree. Bought my first BMW in August. A 2002 540iT, and it’s not perfect by any means but for a 14 year old car it’s been damn solid and parts are plentiful and WAY cheaper than my Saab. It's also from a simpler time (before iDrive) and it's actually pretty simple to work on. One thing is for sure, that…
The one I can't stand is Adam. He's not funny, completely awkward and just generally terrible.
They are quite useful and not uncommon. At least in European cars. Both my Saab and my BMW have it.
Man that is a beauty!! Very nice choice.
This looks MUCH better than the Bloated Hellcats too. 10/10; would hoon.
I think we heard the lead up to this at the end of the other video.
I found mine on Cars.com up in Queens, NY back in August. I live in Dallas. It was a long (but great) drive home. :)
My 540i Touring disagrees.
I had an 04 2.0T before this one that only left me stuck once when the emergency brake got stuck. Turned out to be a flimsy plastic release button.
Fellow 9-3 2.8 owner here. I guess I've been pretty lucky. Mine is an 09, with XWD, and aside from the dreaded coils, it's been pretty reliable with 87k miles.
Can confirm. Had several as rental ‘loaner’ cars from the Toyota dealer the dozens of times my 2000 MR2 Spyder was in the shop. I would beat the F*CK out of those things. It was also fun to disassemble the interior with my bare hands when sitting in traffic.
I hate that I haven’t driven the latest 9-5. The powertrain in my 9-3 aero is almost identical though. :)
I appreciate that! The 9-3 has been pretty solid, minor issues here and there and at 87,xxx miles should keep going for years to come. The XWD system is amazing!
