I'd argue that its alot harder to try and "pull up" when in the process of making a tackle then people think, but it mainly comes down to the fact that this is how the game is called now, and as a defensive player, he needs to be aware of that fact.

At the point he was going in to make the tackle, it would have been with his shoulder. As Clausen is going forward, Ansah had already lowered his head to make the hit. The game is played at full speed. When a defender is going in, to make a hit on a running QB, he's screwed cause he's more then likely gonna get called…

He was already going in for the tackle when the QB started his slide. Ziggy Ansah was caught in no mans land at that point.
