I got married in a Jessica McClintock. It was like Little House on the Prairie and the Gay 90s fell in love and had a baby. Idk wtf I was thinking.

I got that you were being sarcastic, I was just joining in.

I am hoping you realized my statement was just the argument and language that schools use today to police the clothing of female students. I am sure you did, but wanted to clarify, just in case you thought I was being shitty to one group or another. The intertubes are terrible for tone.

I’m more interested in why a 25 year old would even want to go to a high school event. By the time I was a sophomore, I vowed to walk across the stage at graduation and never enter a high school again.

I was obsessed with my super poofy pink Jessica McClintock dress with butterfly appliqués. I don’t know why anyone would want to miss an opportunity to wear a long gown! It’s funny too, because even the long gown are WAY more sophisticated than what we wore.

My youngest sister went to prom just a couple years ago (I am 11 years older than she is, so it’s been a while for me, my last prom was in 2002). She wore this extremely short, extremely tight dress that I was honestly surprised my parents let her wear (she normally doesn’t dress that way at all, she dresses all flowy

My stepdaughter just had prom- I was mostly surprised by how all of the girls wore super short tight dresses- not what I would imagine to be prom like. She goes to a catholic school and they had no issues or requirements so I guess it greatly varies by area. All the girls also wore belly baring dresses to homecoming

Friend, you are on fire with the comments today. Thoughtful, well-informed and delightfully profane! Major respect.

Recruiter called for my sons (17 and 18)... I did my time, and no fucking way will my kids enlist under this administration. I’ve talked to other fathers that are vets, and they have agreed. Granted, it isn’t like polled a bunch of guys, but the general consensus I get around the other vet-Dads is ‘Fuck No’.

I leaned right during my time in, pre 9/11. I would’ve voted Dole over Clinton but I was in Saudi at the time, and honestly I didn’t care that much when I was 19.

Bush was fucked no matter what he did. Yeah, we should have pulled out before getting involved in Iraq, but they went after Bin Laden and had nothing to show for it. Bush seems like a genuinely nice person who really does care about the people in his country, but he had some extremely shitty people around him.

I’m sure there were some that approved of her disciplined hawkishness, but I’m old and cynical and to be honest all I saw was a hammer looking for nails. Which is still infinitely better than Trump, who I’m not even sure understands the basic concept of “hammer” and is just smashing his giant empty meaty head down on

I know “libs” like “hate the military” or whatever, but I frankly assumed that there were a handful of military men (or women) who saw through the propaganda and actually voted FOR Hillary’s disciplined hawkishness. She strikes me as the most pragmatic possible child of the military industrial complex. Less fearful

Actually, it’s worse than that. The officer is a full-bird O-6 Colonel, the highest rank before you put on stars. He’s probably been in the service for 15-20 years at this point, and is an expert in his field.

I’m mad this administration has enabled me to spell the word dilettante without looking it up.

How does anybody in the real estate industry take him seriously? Or the publishing world?

He’s wearing a vest AND Wayfarers, how do you not take him seriously??

He has to take Kushner seriously, because Kushner can, perhaps, convince his father in law, the president, not to dick-step the fight against ISIS. Good thing we had a revolution specifically so we would not have some jumped-up, in over his head, dauphin in charge of a military operation.

Actually, he looks to be a full bird colonel, which just solidifies your point.

How can that officer take this guy seriously? He’s an actual major, not some jagoff who majored in Recreation Sciences or whatever.
