I was loving Open Water for easily four-fifths of the movie. I was drawn into the scenario, the predicament of these two people trapped in a terrible situation.

Claire is a perfect example of right person, wrong time. Carmy is not nearly mature enough to be in a romantic relationship (with ANYONE). If he had met Claire a few years down the road, once he had grown up a little... then it might have worked.

I remember reading about the fan mail they would get on TOS. One lady wrote in and said she was a happily married woman, but she was curious: on a human male, because he is red-blooded, his extremities are pink. Does Spock’s green blood affect his extremities in the same way?

I remember seeing this in a mostly empty theatre when it came out, then endlessly lecturing my friends on how much better Phantasm was than every live-action Batman movie.

Re: the underwear scene in Alien. I read somewhere that Sigourney Weaver was originally given a pair of panties that actually fit correctly, but someone (not sure if it was Ridley Scott, a producer, or Weaver herself) felt it looked more “futuristic” if the panties were two sizes too small.
