I thought this is Deadspin, not otter spin!

I don’t check for cyclists, but I do check for cars, which would theoretically also result in me seeing cyclists. No need for the “dutch reach”, just some situational awareness.

I feel like the maze must be something more...impactful than that. The Man in Black keeps mentioning he’s been coming to the park for “30 years”, exactly the same amount of time since a “major incident” (probably the Westworld original movie, based on the hints) occurred; that can’t be a coincidence.

Not everyone buys cars via car loans you know, and some of us pay off our cars relatively quickly...

I have a crazy theory on Westworld.

Well, that’s because he’s a natural born citizen of both Germany and the US by law. He was born on a US military base in Germany to an American father and a German mother. He’s lived in both the USA and Germany. Did he maybe decide to play for the USA because it’s easier to get in? Maybe. Or maybe he felt more

That’s not necessarily the justification. For starters, a lot of players, if forced to play for the country of their birth, would only be able to play for repressive regimes that may very well want the player or their family dead because they are refugees. For others, their country simply didn’t exist when they were

To be clear, it’s not just getting a passport. You need to also either have a parent or grandparent that was born in the country or you need to live there for a number of years. In the US, that means simply having a passport as becoming a permanent citizen requires a number of years residing in the country already

Sad thought: The lyrics no longer make sense because the Discovery Channel just shows shitty reality TV now.

Except that Westworld obviously isn’t a secret, it’s so well known that casual acquaintances go on trips together to Westwordl and they have shareholders. If you tried to blackmail someone people would obviously know (from the old timey outfits) that this was in Westworld, the intended blackmail target could simply

Very true, I suppose. I just found it interesting commentary on the commodification of what is supposed to be a journey of self-discovery, as games with choice are somewhat supposed to be.

I think the key interesting thing from a video game perspective about the episode was the dichotomy between what Westworld is supposedly about, finding your “true” self, and what it actually is. Mae is almost recalled and decommissioned because “her numbers are down”, presumably referring to the number of people

It’s a nice thoery, but I believe some previews already showed William and the Man in Black interacting. Plus Mae’s remembrance of the man in black happened before she was recast/rebuilt as the madam, but William is occupying that same timespace. Unless they’re going to introduce time travel to the show, William

Yeah idiots! That’s a gloryhole! God dammit people, do I have to tell you everything?

They couuld claim it’s about the arrest/charges and not about what he said, which is a legal thing for a government institution to fire someone for.
