Personally I recommend rewatching Texhnolyze, there are a lot of references in the anime that only make sense on the second or third viewing. Plus it helps that the violence is gorgeously brutal.

Well, Rugby does have a lot of the same sort of plays; I think the CTE study on rugby is coming and that could mean some very interesting issues for both sports. That said, rugby is probably safer; CTE is caused by lots of hits, both small and large, to the head, not big hits.
