Remember, EA locked PCs out of the current Fifa engine for years. It was only in the last two versions, I think, that PC becam up to date.

Yea, I bought Fifa 13 after years of not buying and football games, and it's really nice. I wouldn't make it an annual purchase, tho, anyway, and I'll still play 13 when a friend comes over every once in a while. The one series that I buy annually is F1, and I don't think Codies will be leaving the PC dry, so I'm ok

w00t!

Well, one thing I know. If I ever get one of those things (which seems quite unlikely at the moment) I'm going to pull the plug on the kinect camera anytime I'm not actively using it for gameplay. That said, the new kinect functionality seems very nifty, and the only interesting thing out of this whole mess.

I found the main event veeery uninspiring. Then I saw this http://gizmodo.com/kinect-2-full-… and became slightly more interested. Still, will wait a couple years and see if any kinect game worth having comes out. Meanwhile, I've got my bases covered with PC, Wii U and 3DS.

"There's always stuff that can be done with new power. PCs have been held back so much by weaker consoles in the past. AI in particular is very complex, as is physics, and consoles have historically failed on that front. Using AMD stuff also means that physx might take a back seat, giving those of us on Team Red some

I get what you're saying, and I get that some games go offline entirely (hence my mention of MMOs). What I'm saying is, if I've downloaded a certain game on my XBOXONE and it's been twenty years, and I'm now playing XBOXFOUR, I should still be able to pick my XBOXONE console and play said game, unless I've uninstalled

It's still up on the air whether the improvements to kinect will yield anything significant, gameplay-wise. It's the only thing I'm marginally curious about, to be honest.

A new box to watch old TV. New sports games, with updated graphics. New racing game, with updated graphics. A new CoD with updated graphics. A Kinect with slightly improved precision.

You mean they would block previous games from working at all? MMOs excluded, I really don't think it will come to this. I may not be able to outright play a PS4 game on the PS7 twenty years from now, but if I dust off my old PS4 I should still be able to play my PS4 game there... just like I can still dust off my snes

it flew right over their heads, didn't it?

I'm at the same time disappointed and happy with this conference. I'm disappointed that there's nothing really new or exciting in the table: it's just more graphics, more CoD, more entertainment fluff. And then I'm happy that, because I'm so completely disinterested in all of this, it won't be getting any of my

Nice ideas, and I agree mainly on two things: the attempt to be CG movies is damaging many single-player games. And I'm having much more fun with my portable system (3ds) than I ever thought I would, especially compared to console games.

Yea, this echoes my sentiments! Pretty much. When I read Ricittelo's article, it just felt... delusional. There's so much wrong with the console games industry right now, with the bloating development and marketing costs being passed down to buyers through severe anti-consumer practices, I just can't feel very

This. Having spent a large part of my young age on the SNES, I still get keys mixed up all the time when I'm using the XBx controller on my PC games.

"These aren't short TV spots or trailers. They're long, detailed looks at each game, some running for over 5 minutes and including custom animation and live-action sequences."

Nintendo's comment is that, while at first it seemed simple to add the 3d effect to 2d games, it actually screwed up some gameplay elements, like the player's perception of space, hit boxes and precision timing, so they had to readjust a lot of stuff. In the end, it took about 20 times longer than they expected to

Maybe he read Kotaku yesterday...

Hey! That's win logo, which was the platform my school used to introduce us 8-year old kids to computer lessons back in '92. I loved programming the little turtles to make repeat patterns that resulted in radial, star-like patterns, or fractal-like results.

Now playing

Now, how cool is it that project eternity is not only reviositing the style, but incorporating modern technology into it? I fell it's really a long time coming, and should be a joy to behold and play.
