Hm... well, I'd heard the total manufacturing cost was $130, I believe that too was stated by an analyst, but prior to launch. I'm not sure how much it actually costs if not $130, but at the same time, does anyone actually have any solid numbers on that? I question if all cost of manufacture numbers are speculation,

Actually, on the point of Mega Man Legends 3, it WAS originally stated to be greenlit. They quietly stated it much later (about April if I recall correctly) that it was not actually greenlit. That said, it's cancellation wasn't unexpected under the circumstances, and I didn't buy the console for MML3, although I still

It was worded differently when Nintendo said it, so I did mis-word what I said. Nintendo said 3D may not be required for 3DS games. So poor wording on that.

I'm just going to repost my wall of text from the other article, as I think it sums up my thoughts on this dealy pretty well:

This all tells me that the name "3DS" was not a good idea. Yeah, it's a 3D DS, but it's not a DS, it's definitely got more to it. The problem is, the name says otherwise. Personally, I see that the 3DS has had a couple of major hurdles that are not being mentioned, or if they were, they're lost in the number of

To be honest, reading the title before seeing anything in the article, I thought it was another "way to be late, Kotaku" moment.

To be honest, I hate when Kotaku covers 'news' like this. I come here for game news, I don't want to hear about terrorist attacks. Some of us do game for the purpose of escaping this kind of shit. Is there a tag this is under I can use to ignore this and all related stories?

I won't argue with you. But the point is, so far, they've given no valid reason. In fact, their own FAQ about it says that the "reason stated here" was why they cancelled it. The reason was that they decided to. I'm sorry, but I don't feel that's a valid reason.

Eh, you know, I'm not into fighters, and I'd totally have been into this since they did add Phoenix Wright to the game.

I've been thinking... how are the Japanese Internets responding to this? Is the same outcry happening there?

Do you really believe that for a second? Look at the 'reasons explained in the FAQ'. None of it explains anything. They basicaly said, "Because" as the answer. That's not an answer. :/

Okay, despite the fact that I'm nerdraging now about the whole Legends 3 cancellation, that close-up of Reggie made me laugh just now.

For the record, Everquest is still pay to play. Everquest II is F2P (with paid content such as additional races, you only get like... 4 options if you go free.)

Well, Konami did do something for Castlevania's 20th back when Portrait of Ruin was released (that package with the stylus, timeline, soundtrack, and other goodies). But not sure what they'd do this year for the 25th. (Hard to believe it's been 5 years since Portrait. Great game. :3 )

I admit, it's not the Burnout I know, but hell, it reminds me a lot of the classic Nintendo 64 game, Blast Corps. I mean, obviously not the same, but kinda gives me a little of that feel, so I'm totally not against this. I'd give it a shot, to be honest.

True, very true. Although rebranding was sort of the tune of the 90's. The games were still good even with the wrong names. :3

The only options are to play it in black and white, and there's supposedly a 'green tinted' mode, but I've never found it. >.>

Well, yeah, they even said when the Virtual Console was released that the games would be in "their original forms entirely, bugs and all." The bug of calling "FFVI" by "FFIII" obvioulsy qualifies as a "bug from the original", wouldn't you agree? :P
