Yup. Also the fact that most insurance companies, if the person has basic medical insurance at all, will only cover a rehab stay for a maximum of 30 days. That is barely enough time for a person to detox, let alone kick an opiate addiction. God knows this situation will only get worse if the new healthcare bill passes.

I was going to make a similar comment. I was thinking about how many young children have been, and will be, left without one or both parents in my area. I work in the criminal law field, and I see things getting worse, not better. I wish I knew the answer.

I’m terrified that the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program is going away. Even Obama was thinking about capping it.

Thank you. I would tell you what her profession was but it would make you even more troubled. Being an at-will employee is great.

I’m so sorry. It’s so strange. I feel like I woke up in a different world. I walked down the street and I talked to the same people at work, but the entire time I was inwardly thinking about whether I actually ever knew them, and how much hate they had to have inside them to vote for Trump (my boss was literally

Ugh, sorry about that. As bad as I feel as a woman, I can’t imagine how it must feel to a woman and a person of color.

Just got home from work. My boss literally walked in singing, looking in my office, and said “Why won’t TacoBelle look at me I wonder?” I was physically shaking. She is a powerful woman with a graduate degree.

I received the “most improved” D.A.R.E. award. As a fifth-grader into Agatha Christie and my Playstation, I must have been at risk for becoming a danger to the community, prior to D.A.R.E. intervention.

This so much. I am absolutely dreading going into work this morning and listening to my coworkers discuss how Hilary was shrieking and Donald told it like it is. It is a daily struggle and I look forward to my impending meltdown.

True story. This also sounds preachy, but when I gave up dairy, I finally stopped getting the horrendous painful chin cysts which would ruin my month. I’m talking volcanic, inflamed chimples which would erupt like the fires of Mordor or Mount Vesuvius. I am only being mildly hyperbolic.

Fair enough. I think a lot of her most (more than just this one) were pretty egregious and sanctimonious, but I think we should always be concerned with what exactly is considered protected speech on social media, and how far employers are allowed to prod into their employees’ private lives through that social media,

I think it’s also important to note that this diatribe of hers was placed on her official WTAE Facebook page. So, it’s not even so much an off-the-clock opinion. What she said directly reflected upon the network, since she was using their platform.

Hahahah you’re totally right. I have heard so many stories from people who have been at eating at restaurants when Wendy came striding in with her horrible children and treated servers terribly. The worst part is that she is now doubly as popular thanks to her hoardes of apologists.

This makes me sad!! Although I did just Google her name and she’s now attempting to be a life coach and have a lifestyle brand? Eek. Good for you for standing your ground, though. I guess Team Sally Wiggin, then.

Exactly. And I think we should sit all high schoolers down at some point before they graduate and remind them that, yes, you can be fired from a job for making racist/sexist/homophobic/asshole/ignorant comments on social media. I’m an attorney, and I’m still amazed at how many of my peers post inflammatory shit on

As a Pittsburgher, this woman is completely infuriating. She had been posting holier-than-thou Facebook posts for a very long time prior to this incident, and I was happy that the station finally took action after this horribly racist and excruciating post.

This guy knows how I feel

Agreed. I was beyond angry and disturbed generally by this story, and still am. However, after reading the Kansas City Star article, I am a little concerned that the legal case might not be as open and shut as it seemed initially. It is a damn shame that Missouri consent laws are so fucked up. I am hoping that these
