And that’s before the mics are opened up to the public.

I used to be a local government reporter in a mid-sized town so I spent a lot of time at city council, county board of commissioners, and other exciting, local government agency meetings. The Parks and Rec bits may as well have been a documentary.
I work in local government. There is always at least one person like this. We have an “open forum” 30 minutes before every city council meeting where people can spout off about anything and everything, regardless of whether it is something on the meeting agenda. And they do. Conspiracy theories, corrupt staff, corrupt…
That basically sums it up.
I’ve hard the third group referred to as “$60k millionaires”. They are living off of credit card debt and genuinely believe that “fake it ‘til you make it” is an effective mantra.
I spent the majority of my life living near a couple of the richest zip codes in the country. Rich people style comes in a few flavors:
That’s only because this is the reality of city council meetings sometimes.
Gonna be funny when Trump fans riot in Tenn in 3 months.
The people who voted for it, who proposed it, should all be held liable for the court costs. Bullshit legislation won’t stop until the people pushing it take some kicks in their financial nuts. Right now, there are no consequences that impact them in the slightest, so they just keep pushing constitution-violating laws…
They would have created the law whether protestors walked silently singing slave hymns dressed in their Sunday Best or they came wielding torches and roping up elected officials tarring them (my favorite). The point is this government hates people of color and will make any excuse to kill them. History teaches Riot Act
This won’t be overturned in the higher courts...nope not all. Seriously, this shit is a waste of time and taxpayer money.
Did any of you ever wonder why Ellen, who has been in the comedy scene for a long time, is never in any of those specials or round tables with other comedians?
People did go to HR, and were shown the door shortly after.
Her death really has stuck with me.
Hobby drama is fun and I am a Ravelry user, so I’ll let you know that the knitters who were banned were NOT “more interested in 3-needle bind-offs than immigration policy.” Like many other dipshits on social media, they were busy organizing themselves to troll knitters of color and creating yarn colorways with racist…
People underestimate the amount of yarn required for a single knitting project.
I think one of my new favorite Podcasts put this best
Yarn is super expensive and especially early on you waste a lot making mistakes
I stopped diving with my old scuba club after the a bunch of the organizers started retweeting white supremacists during the 2016 election.
It sucked because they always had really cool trips, but I just can’t associate myself with the organizers any more.
Every hobby is full of privileged white ding-dongs who will sob uncontrollably about how you’re making everything political when you tell them they’re being gross and making other people uncomfortable. Just to name some random weird things I am interested in and have joined Facebook groups for which I mostly wound up…
