In the article about hybrid super cars being a lie Matt talked about the cars shitting rainbows, I don't think this one shits rainbows.

@musicman119: You get the capital punishment for pouring paint onto another person's car right? Anything less would be an injustice.

The red number 1 car at the beginning of the clip seen in the background, while Robert Downey is getting into his car, looks an awful lot like Niki Laudas Ferrari 312 T2 from '76. If it is meant as a reference, then I applaud the producers, if not then I still like it.

I am looking forward to seeing this on the road. My dad is probably going to by the hatchback to replace their current '99 Focus. The car I learned how to drive in.

@abgwin: I love those old VW ads aswell. Especially this one:

@Skunky: Sadly you are probably right. I would have loved to see them participate. The rumors regarding them using a transverse gearbox intrigued me, since everyone else is using longitudinal. It made good sense to use the transversal gearbox given the larger fuel tank, at least on paper.

@IronicalBalls: I highly doubt that would be possible. They would need the accept of all the teams, FOM and FIA this late in the game. Why would the teams want to split the cake with one more team?

Actually. There was a bit of confusion at teh Chinese GP last year when Vettel sailed to Red Bulls first victory. They played the british anthem, when it should have been the austrian.

@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: While that would be very benifical to a new team, it is all or nothing when it comes to participating in F1. You are either at all the races, or you are not part of the championship.

I applaud Audi for trying something a bit different and and it looks okay. However, I don't like it. The reason i don't is this: My first though when I saw it was "Oh, how nice, a small convertible." (because of the 'chrome'). Then you read the article, and get disappointed that it's not a convertible.

You know, us Europeans really like you Americans, honestly we do. We might even let some of you visit. ;) But her? Her you can keep, preferably some place where she doesn't have access to power. (Like Alaska!)

@bdon: Because us gay guys can't appreciate engineering and know nothing about it? We all dress in pink and can't tell a camshaft from a tyre iron. I can't possibly know anything about engineering, despite the fact that I grew up driving my dads Escort RS Turbo and my granddads '61 Thunderbird.

Personally, I like the new Mondeo. It is a hassle to keep the shiny bits around the gear stick nice and clean. But overall it is really great.

Yeah, Williams have had it for years, but it is still cool. However it doesn't beat the McLaren Technology Center. If you want steril, high-tech and littered with racing cars, both Formula one and road cars, then Woking is your place.

That is just plain cruel! Please just let me see one in real life, that would be enough.

@scroggzilla raids again: The ADAC Rally was, for some stages, run on former military proving grounds. The surface was slippery concrete with what the germans call "hinkelsteine" on the side of the road used to stop runaway Leopard tanks. As far as I remeber, it was one of those hinkelsteine Solberg hit.
