“This Barbie wants to watch the world burn.”

Are you sure you didn’t see Avatar? Forgetting you’ve seen it is a common side-effect.

Will be interesting to see the kind of legs Barbie has given this big of an opening. Word of mouth seems pretty good but I feel like it’s the kind of film that you can’t really be “talked in” to going to. You either want to see it and will go as soon as possible, or you’re going to wait for streaming.

It is kinda hilarious considering this is exactly the kind of thing “hardcore” gamers cream themselves over every time some fighting game reveals its next guest character.

What won’t fortnight gobble up to stay relevant?

The takeaway will be some big studio trying to replicate the completely organic phenomenon by releasing two if its own movies the same weekend and then promoting them together.

I could see it getting nominated because the Academy Awards absolutely love to do that to get eyes on the show, but it’s not going to win.

Same. No deeper fuckin’ meaning.

Lighting in modern movies sucks and thank god Barbie is actually lit.

Hell, I’ll argue even if the movie isn’t about that...the trailer sure as shit wants you to think it is so you’ll go.

Part of that is because it seems like the movie understands that the kind of “female empowerment” Barbie pushes is the corporate kind. And in doing so they completely side-line Ken to the point he’s a global joke.

Or they could....like...pay the writers and actors?

“I feel like Sims crew lets [issues] slide for a while just for the hilarious videos it gets, and then it fixes [them] in updates,” said another popular comment.

Decipherable plots, too.

Can’t he argue “time served” for this stint with Kim Kardashian?

It’s kinda funny that giving Oppenheimer all this credit for being runner up while ignoring the overwhelming success of Barbie that same weekend is sorta the exact problem Barbie brings up.

All of this chatter about Barbenheimer and it feels like we’re not really giving enough credit to Barbie for dragging Nolan across the finish line this past weekend.

I did enjoy how, despite all being “just Ken” they were each trying really hard to be “that Ken” for Barbie.

They couldn’t get the AI fired up fast enough so handed it off to Ethan instead.
