Agreed. How many people look at a 650i coupe and think to themselves “I need something better”?

I think the market is shifting. I know for me, I find pre-war cars interesting to look at, but I really can’t imagine ever buying one.

I think part of the problem with modern luxury cars is that many features that used to be exclusive to certain brands are now avaiable to everyone. How many 30 year old Toyotas have leather, moonroof, nice stereo, wood/aluminum trim etc. ? Today I wouldn’t be surprised if most Toyotas on the lot have all of those.

It’s hard to imagine modern cars winning best in show. To me, the biggest obstacle seems to be rarity. How many 1932 Lancia Pinninfarina’s are there? Almost certainly far fewer then even a car you forgot exists, like the Lamborghini Jalpa. Maybe some modern Zagato designs will win in the future?

I think it’s just deceptive advertising. The solar panel may be wired to charge the big battery, but as you point out, don’t expect the roof to be your primary charging strategy. I don’t think there is anything false that Karma has said, just misleading.

Pretty sure they mean “power the car” in the same way a 12v battery powers a normal car. Didn’t Toyota also say something weird about the Prius roof powering the AC?

I think part of the problem is the cost of health care. The old guys and gals who work/worked for the car companies have expensive perscriptions, operations, etc.

I came here to say this.

Are there any differences between the UK ans US broadcast with this one? Last series they changed some of the music because of copyright laws.

Agreed. I’ve seen a cop in front of me stop at a green light, wait for it to turn red, then proceed into the intersection nearly causing an accident. Cops are terrible drivers.

The good news is I think the Russians are working on a vaccine. Is this van from Tunguska?

It’s not a surprising result. Imagine if everyone drove 1 mph. Fatalities would be very low. If everyone drove 200 mph, fatalities would be higher. It makes sense that everyone driving at 70 mph will cause more fatalities than everyone driving 50 mph.

Interesting, I wish there was better definition. While I wouldn’t use the ball for recovery I would have considered using the pin that goes through hitch. Especially if it’s the kind with the key. I think the keyed pins are hardened.

Actually, if you watch the video closely, I think he ducks after the part is already past him.

The M6 never really appealed to me, as at that price you can get a better sports car (911) or a better GT (Vantage). The 650i makes more sense to me at a lower price, and it's a shame that doesn't have a manual. I think a manual 650i would be a nice daily driver.

I don’t know why you chose to feature ERAU. Waterloo, Washington, and Mississippi State all have more interesting architectures. Without using all GM components, you get less support and learn more. Sadly there are not points for originality/creativity. So, you could put in all of the shelf GM components and win.

I agree, it should stay grill-less.

I think they absoultley nailed it. I’m no Tesla fanboy, but that design does exactly what it needs to. One of the best looking sedans of the present age. Far far more attractive than a Camry, Accord, or Maxima. It’s instantly recognizable as a Tesla, yet is clearly different from their other cars.

I’m pretty sure the 2005 TJ used a 42RLE 4 speed auto, not the 32RH 3 speed.

No phone, no lights, no A/C? Sounds like you just described a race car.
