I spend far less time on gawker sites now because of this new system. I use to scroll through and look at all the comments. Now, I look at a couple, get annoyed with the new system and move on. That might actually be a good thing.

With eggs I use the water test. If you cover it in a container with water and it lays on it's side, it's good. If it floats on end, it's bad.
