There are a lot of good reasons why the SOHC4 Hondas are so popular as project bikes: they’re plentiful, cheap, every shop has worked on 4 of them this month, they’re light and well-balanced, and they look good. Add the incredible depth and breadth of aftermarket support and the possibilities are endless.

It has a ton of charm, for sure. But this is a bike that didn’t sell well when new, and it’s an awful example at a ridiculous price.

I guess I worded my post badly. I meant that if my budget was 10x smaller I’d get an F4i and have a great bike that would never let me down. Instead, I went the other way with the CBX. :)

Which one is the F150 in this example? I specifically chose the F4i because it’s a comfy all-rounder compared to other 600 SS bikes. It’s more functional than the GB as it actually has a passenger seat. It also has WAY better suspension (less tiring and safer) and WAY better brakes (still safer). It has EFI to spare…

This bike is CP at any price. The only possible use cases for it are to be some quirky collector’s 4th bike to wheel out for the Distinguished Gentleman’s ride every year, or someone trying to make a name for themselves getting a sweet custom featured on BikeExif.

Remember this kinda cool oddball bike from the 80's that nobody loved? Wanna buy a sad, worn-out one for about the same price as a pristine low-mile CBR600F4i that is 10x better in every possible way and will run forever?
