“this makes me feel icky”
Hang on now. You do not need a PhD to be a scientist. If he were calling himself “Dr. Bill Nye”, sure that would be a problem, but you technically don’t even need an undergraduate degree to be a scientist. A scientist, by definition, is someone learned in science and usually performs studies to advance the field.
The man is a mechanical engineer and a tv presenter, his job is to say things people pay him to say. Are you dense?
The most “problematic” thing about this whole scenario, is you calling out Nye as a sellout. You go to great lengths to explain how coke has a huge problem with waste, yet somehow insinuate it’s Bill Nye’s fault for making a commercial. Bill Nye has done more in his 66 years on this planet to educate children and…
I work in a grocery store that’s a pretty good company to work for, but we have a problem with one vendor that hasn’t sent in a merchandiser for months. One of the other vendors’ merchandisers said he used to work for them, they tried to hire him back and he told them he’d do it for $20 an hour. Hasn’t heard back…
Fits for basically every industry facing an employee “shortage”.
Quake 2 being id’s best single player game is a corona of the sun level hot take. Doom plays a hell of a lot better today.
Is anyone else increasingly annoyed with games whose major mechanic is inventory management, or am I just getting old?
Not to brag about being a foodie, but I am pretty excited that my city recently had a new Arby’s open
I don’t know if I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant which has/had a Michelin star.
I have a similar experience on the phone because my last name is impossible to pronounce, so I usually get “sir” instead of “Mr. SomethingGreekOpolopolos.” It’s nice when they try to pronounce it but I usually begin correcting them two syllables in to save them the grief, followed by the inevitable, “wow, I wouldn’t…
Slide 4: “Any wheel where the number of spokes is not evenly divisible by the number of visible lugs.”
Too bad?
I don’t like being called “sir” because it makes me feel old, but I do like getting called “ma’am.”
There is nothing wrong with ‘Sir’ and ‘Ma’am’, as these terms have been used since....forever to offer respect to elders as well as respect for those who choose to show patronage to a business amongst many more uses. Looking at your history of blog posts, Brianna Wellen, I see you’re nothing more than a trouble maker…
This is such vague passive aggressiveness that I can’t even tell which part of what I said got under your skin. You either think Black women make this too much of a big deal or people with alopecia don’t matter in this conversation. Either way - weird thing to feel bothered about.
They want the Wild West but cry foul whenever the train gets robbed~
I was showing a friend the game when I was in Stormveil and explaining the rune thing on one of my many runes back and he pointed out the math was wrong on what I lost vs what I picked back up. We paid attention to it and sure enough I’d die with like 1500 and pick back up around 1200 or so. I thought my game was…
As much as I often complain about the tactics of the rich in avoiding and at times outright evading taxes with impunity I am completely with the boat owner here.
