Yeah, while not technically a pro sports organization, big-time college football might as well be and will aggressively defend their trademark like they are.

You seem to be reading something that I haven't said.

The league had ownership of the name, so there was no issue. Not sure what point you are trying to make, but professional sports franchises very carefully protect their names and logos, and are very willing to intervene if they feel it's threatened.

If someone started a new franchise with one of those names, today, they definitely would want a word.

The Atlanta Braves would like to have a word with you about that...

serious question: is there a reason to say equalizer instead of tying goal?

Oh that's still going to happen.

The game that's such a big deal it can't even get on network TV.

When the elbow missed and the player took about three seconds to react... yeah.

It's worse when there is a microphone guy. They're just big and mean and armed with a stick.

A) News reporters do this every day all over the country, and assaults on journalists are exceedingly rare.

First of all, the survey was conducted over 10 years ago — they began calling in October of 2003. I'm not sure how you can claim that's relevant or valid to today's conversation.

I think the argument that you just need a sizable composite also should be applied to the name change in general.

It's a smaller sample size (the first one was pretty small), and conducted at events where you're more likely to have active tribe members (so maybe not typical Indians) but at least it's verified American Indians.

Just FYI, that poll is thoroughly discredited.

Just pulled that number right out your ass, huh?

I've made you a project.

Yes, that's the reaction to a 0-0 tie game. This is soccer. This is why it'll never be a major sport in the U.S.
