It gives me an excuse to post this.

With the advent of the VCR, there were a slew of "Cars in the desert" movies that were straight to video. I'm not sure if atomic fears drove it as much as it was just cheap to make apocalyptic scifi in abandoned locations.

Tumblr had a field day dropping him into Xtreme 90s cartoons and such. All and all I chalk it up to FOX being notorious for hiring dodgy photoshoppers... he may not be so bad live action. Still, yeesh.

Yeah with the Flukeman, the hallucinogenic mushroom field, the ecoterrorists vs the glowing bug vampires, and the cockroachs one... too many to choose from. All of Darin Morgan's scripts were aces though. Just checking IMDB I didn't realize Gilligan wrote Pusher, another all time favorite. Cerulean blue.

I'd vote Humbug for best MOTW episode of X-files, with the parasitic twin, the dwarf from Twin Peaks, the Jim Rose Circus and the Fiji Mermaid mythology. Although I personally think Jose Chung is the best overall episode, not really a MOTW one. I agree though, they did it the best.
