Excellent points (since I did go low with some smug commentary about bible illiteracy) seeing a great deal of the book was written in aramaic and then translated to Latin, etc. etc. You have 4 gospels that tell different versions of a story... there's contradiction and misinterpretation throughtout. I do wonder if

Correction, B-17... WW2 era bombers which footage from dogfights was used to make the sequences in Star Wars.

Again I think this is in regards to "science vs religion" debates which is tends to be exclusively the jurisdiction of evangelicals. Who feel the need to argue against science when that's like arguing Picasso vs Einstein. Mythology is meant to explain existence from a personal level, science from a phenomenological

Point taken.

I don't think "smug atheists" was directed at all atheists, but as an agnostic I find there does tend to be an overbearing righteous to some atheists... as if anyone who does believe in a bearded space guy or any deity is a moron. Religion does serve a purpose and a need (why are there so many religions if it didn't?)

Yeah the Nostromo wins for least aerodynamic I think.

The Defiant was quite badass as well. The Millenium Falcon of DS9. Heh, can't resist posting this vid, always amuses me.

It's like a pulse rifle with sharp sticks attached. :)

Also the least aerodynamic I can think of: USS Sulaco.

I like how they look like insects.

I like Y wings for the B1 bomber look. So many to pick from... the Falcon and Cylon Raiders would be up there too.

I took a class in college "Religion in Modern Literature" from a pretty amazing professor who's premise was essentially that... in a secular society, archaic religious modes of meaning were more poignantly expressed through the arts. Considering many atheists are also rational Enlightenment scientists, it's important

from Sir Ian's Twitter.

Why does that look like a re-purposed commemorative Highway to Heaven coin... starring TV's Michael Landon?

It's due to Nolan that everyone wants generic dark and gritty. Except he almost got it right making a neo-noir (Burton, for it's faults, was far more '20s/'30s hued) Gotham in Batman Begins. You need to follow Timm's animated Superman and go for a 40's hued Metropolis... something like The Incredibles. I'm betting

I'd love a Superman film set in the 40s. With Jennifer Jason Leigh as Lois.

You can add Gotu Kola, DMAE, and Phosphatidylserine to your list. Note most "brain supplements" cause insomnia or essentially wake you up. Not good bedtime snacks.

Plus Klingons... it doesn't get more epic than that.
