Great interview. I'm stoked for World War Robot. Ash Wood has ridiculous skillz.

As a caveat, the Miramax dub of this is a horrible translation that misses plot points and major chunks of dialog (which unfortunately is the only one on Netflix). The Japanese disc with english subs is much better.

I think if anything, Avengers just paved the way for a lot of these franchises to open the throttle. They've been tiptoe-ing and need to strut. The one shot of the repulsors bouncing off the shield is something the Xmen fight scenes have been missing, they're the ultimate combo attack team.

Golden Army was way too jokey for me... MacFarlane's Col. Klink version of Johann Krauss didn't help. Luke Goss was seriously badass though.

The opening Nightcrawler sequence is pretty awesome. After that, meh. Blade and the first Xmen are better. I still love this trailer...

I liked the Blade Runner Gotham in BB over a CSI:Chicago of TDK.

Not to mention stolen from Supes 2. I'll take First Class or the first Xmen over X2 any day.

Fury called them The Avengers, they themselves didn't since they hadn't even all been in the same room before. Cap isn't even the de facto leader at this point, I think it worked better leaving it out rather than force a catchphrase.
