Actually the acting in JC was pretty good. Kitsch was better than Worthington was in Avatar.

I disagree, there were far more subtle unfixable problems. The soundtrack was benign. The editing was awful. The red martians were spray-on tan orange. The tharks look like Cecil the tortoise from Bugs Bunny. The CG, while excellent, is exactly why I hated LOTR... rushing the camera instead of letting the audience

JC had about 1/2 hour of good solid old school escapism, but I wouldn't categorize it as "brilliant".

ET also wiped out Carpenter's The Thing and Blade Runner...

Morbius was the Venom of the 80s. Or at least I used to see a shitton of Morbius shirts back then before Venom was the rage. He had his own comic for a while, but then again by the 90s everyone did. He's also sort of like Blade... not a true vampire and fought other vampires. Although I think the Ultimate Morbius was

JK was the one absolute pitch perfect casting in Raimi's films, I'll miss him.

I think they were being sarcastic. Er, on seeing their other comments, maybe not. At least I wasn't serious.

Yes, they can also get JJJ's son involved as ManWolf too.

Or CG enhanced... I don't see Morbius or Kraven being viable options for a blockbuster. On the flip side, I don't think Mysterio or Electro would work since they'd be too reliant on CG. I dunno really. Let's see how this one plays out.

I still like the idea of John Malkovich playing Vulture, but Scorpie would be better.

Now playing

Mecha-Rhino. Have Spidey take him down pre-credits.

is impressed.

Still waiting on The Incredibles 2... but an animated Pixar version of anything Marvel would be beyond awesome.

The tumbler is sort of like Frank Miller's tankmobile, I think it's a fantastic design. Well, assuming it doesn't rely on a motorcycle for half of it's suspension. The Burton one is flashy but stupid, the 60's batmobile is just boss.

Yeah it's sort of funny that we've had 2 corporate espionage movies already and yet the next one is a "new direction". It'd be nice to see if they could pull off the Mandarin, although I think they're still nervous on a marketing level how that would play out.

I enjoy New York, New York Hotel & Casino for the same reason.

Success.

Alright, nerd factor 11... knowing Manos trivia. High five! Up top!

Like making sure your actor's prosthetic satyr legs are facing the right direction?

Also if so inclined, the hotel used in David Lynch's Lost Highway is right at Death Valley Junction. The owner is an ex-Broadway dancer who puts on shows there in her own theater, in an otherwise abandoned town. It's as "Lynchian" as it gets.
