A real hostile takeover has nothing to do with force, and as a maneuver isn't possible on a non-pubilcally traded company. Rare wasn't publically traded when it agreed to be purchased by MS.

Personally, I would prefer Nintendo give up the home console market and focus on software. Develop HD Mario for PS4 and XBone. They'll still have the handheld market.
