It may cost 10k in cash. Factor in wages and other resources needed to create said patch. I don't think the developers, designers, artists, testers, and QA are getting paid in marbles.

Ugh. I hate unpronounceable names.

I'm afraid to play Mass Effect 3 for fear Garrus will die.

Yes please!

But can the engine do a FosburyFLOP?

First: What's a "cis-male?"

I've been using a Naga for a couple of weeks now. It took a couple of days to get used to it, but man.... I love it!

It's because Valve is coming out with DotA 2 and Blizzard wants to compete and they want players of the original game to know that they're buying into the "Blizzard" one and not someone else's.

What's with the underscores, pipes, slashes, and parens?

What Jaffe said was dumb. It's not so much that he should grow up, it's the fact that he is an industry professional and should act professional. Like it or not, Jaffe getting in front of a camera is him representing the industry we know and love, and by extension, all of us as gamers. What he needs to do right now is

Only $1.99 per text.

Awesome! Can't wait!

Kirk, fantastic write-up.

But the problem is that MMOs require a massive amount of capital and other resources up front before they can ever reach production. Not only does a company have to make the game, but they have to pay their people in the process. THQ doesn't have revenue right now.

They have a "kickstarter" program. It's called "NASDAQ". If you want to invest in the game buy THQ stock. Although they'll likely be booted off the NASDAQ so you may be on to something with Kickstarter.

This memo is ridiculous. If I were on the board I'd be irked that this came to me. Completely unprofessional. The board knows what's going on. Probably in greater detail then the "facts" this guy states.

They're going to go belly up regardless. They've cut everything. They have no capital to actually run the company. The stock is in the can and investors are gun shy because the company has a sucking chest wound reeking of death. You can't get a loan to cover payroll, you can only get a loan to cover company expansion,

I think it's only a bad business decision highlighted by the rest of their bad decisions.

I don't know how the tablet drawing device did on the Wii. Regardless, THQ thinking it would do well elsewhere is a business decision that reeks of not knowing your target audience.

Nothing against Schilling, but ensuring Day 1 purchasing is a bit odd. From a business perspective I want Day 1, Day 2, ... Day 46 purchasing. Oh well, not my business plan. Either way I think I'm actually starting to anticipate this game.
