Possibly, but I believe that requires modifying your PC to spoof an iTunes activation server. Desktop apps like TinyUmbrella are required. I wouldn't run that AND install an untrusted OS from the internet at the same time.

When you install iOS updates, iTunes verifies the update's checksums with Apple's servers. If there's a mismatch, it won't let you install. Up until that point, modifying the iOS update file was a common jailbreak method.

I think thieves are getting smarter and putting the phone in Airplane mode so that they can't be tracked post-robbery. Even so, I turn on Parental Restrictions on the iPhone so that you can't disable the Find My iPhone feature.

Will this mean they finally make the editions uniform? The problem is that Newsweek tends to censor the US version and run fluff pieces as the cover story while the rest of the world sees actual journalism.

But what makes it superior? I pore over the feature list and nothing seems so exquisitely better that I'm willing to ditch my iPhone and re-buy all the apps I want on android. NFC doesn't seem useful to me, and the cameras aren't that different.

Facebook is all but rolling up their checkin service. Foursquare was always better.

I actually like the new Maps. Vector based maps look great IMO, and I wasn't a big user of Street View (which wasn't available in my hometown anyway). Improvement for me.
