I remember her hair falling out because of lack of protein. And her kind of laughing about it.

Me too. I was on a road trip during the finale of Season 1 and insisted we stop early that day so I could watch it in the hotel room. Richard was such a dick. His win was inevitable because he was the most dickish.

I totally agree with you! Everyone is getting this wrong. If you get a can that says “Dad”, you’re supposed to go share it with your dad. It says “Share a Coke with a Dad.” Duff is saying that her friend is a Showstopper.

And no traction! Are you sightseeing somewhere there are no stairs? I once slid down a set of stairs wearing shoes like these... never again.

That’s what I came here to find out. Maybe we’re not getting it. Maybe it’s meant to sound like “demented Hollywood.” I spend too much time thinking about dementia, I guess.

Aw fuck. that means I’m middle aged too. I knew that, but I had forgotten. (Also have to recalculate my age whenever someone asks.)

Ah yes, that.

Everyone talks like he’s out of the running now and Wills is the next in line. Is that because Charles married Camilla?

I think that’s right.

Looks like Last Enchantment came out in paperback in 1981, when I was 13. So this was my Harry Potter.

Now I’ll have to reread it. I read it when it came out. I remember waiting and waiting for The Last Enchantment to be printed and being so happy to see it in the mall. The way we used to buy books. And then I was totally surprised by The Wicked Day. Only vague memories of it - I remember lots of fighting, and sadness

Ah, ok, I’ll take that!

“Also great”? I loved loved loved those Merlin books. Crystal Cave, Hollow Hills, Last Enchantment. Later, the Wicked Day. I practically had them memorized. She did her research for those books, too. I later took a college course on the sources of the Arthurian legend and Stewart had clearly looked at all the source

Unless her will says it should never be published, or even that all her drafts and notes should be destroyed. Which is what I would bet on. That would explain why they rushed it into print as soon as the sister died.

I did too! I came here to see how one would carry a gun in ones panties. Seems like there’s be inadequate support there. I’m sure Lana Kane could manage it though.

That perfectly sums up my perspective as well.

Roving off topic, but I ran all my errands before the neighborhood Fourth of July party, and it was fantastic to see how many outfits I recognized from Old Navy, Costco and Target. We all shop at the same places. We are Borg.

Well, you are awesome. I wish I knew more parents like you. There are some very nice SAHMs in our neighborhood, but their kids are interested in very different things than mine. If only they wanted to do theater camp, I’d figure out a way to cover the cost.

We are in almost the same situation, except my parents aren’t even good for the two afternoons. Luckily my kids are old enough to be home by themselves for a few hours. So it used to be babysitters all the time, but no camps (couldn’t afford both); now that they’re older we do half day camps, and a teenager picks them

Same here. And they are extraordinarily expensive, even for families with two working parents like ours.
