Back in high school, a friend of mine left a message with my buddy's brother saying he got a new car. His brother came to us and said, "Owen got a new car. I guess he got a Corvette." We couldn't believe it. How the hell did this broke-ass, Cheetos-eating stoner end up with a Corvette? We were in shock. Soon

They're getting collectible, too. They didn't import many (for better or worse).

How about a 357 horsepower Toyota Yaris that runs 12s? It belongs to Micro Image. Still runs the 1NZ-FE engine, but it's obviously very built.

I owned a '92 Expo LRV (same as the Colt Vista above), and I would concur, although more along the lines of the bus part.

I'm a big fan of Offroad Nation. The latest update is pretty darn good, too.

The Suzuki Suzuki Kizashi Concept was pretty badass. While the production car was surprisingly decent, it was not anything like the vehicle pictured above.

Suzuki Sidekick/Geo Tracker: Lightweight, easy to find parts, and inexpensive!

I should probably add one more: ChoroQ. It's a role-playing video game using cars as people. There are all kinds of little scenarios, such as "Battle of the Cats." Gets a big WTF from me, although I will admit to owning it.

I'm going to have to go with Tokyo Bus Guide for Sega Deramcast. You are a bus driver in Tokyo and you just have to navigate the streets like a normal-ass bus driver. Is your pulse racing yet?

The early '90s Pontiac Grand Prix coupe looked pretty good. However, the sedan variant they offered looked terrible, and lost any hint of the good lines the Grand Prix had.

British Car Repair Kit.

There was a Chevrolet Sprint Turbo that was for sale for about a year, year and a half here in Portland. Relisted every week. It eventually sold. http://www.subcompactculture.com/2011/10/for-sale-forever-87-chevrolet-sprint.html

As if there was a cuter car than the Daihatsu Copen ...

Exactly what I thought. Sand Lake?

Hmm ... that looks a lot like Sand Lake in Oregon. Hmm ...

Awesome. Always loved those.

I've driven the bargain basement Versa; the one that's $11K. It's still head, neck, and shoulders above what "stripped down" cheap cars from the 1980s and early 1990s were like. Stripped down cheap cars these days come with all the safety features, trip computers, CVTs (and thankfully manual transmissions on most),

While rock crawling might not sound like a lot of fun, navigating the rocks is kind of like playing a game of chess. There is a lot of skill involved and a wrong move can be a bad thing. Think breakage. Think rollover. It's quite exciting, actually. Then again, not everyone likes chess.

I'm surprised Tillamook State Forest in Oregon didn't get a mention. It's a great place to wheel.
